Call for Abstracts

You are invited to submit an abstract for consideration for presentation in poster format at the MAD-ID and SIDP 2026 Annual Meeting. All abstracts concerning antimicrobial stewardship and infectious diseases pharmacotherapy are welcome.

A limited number of $500 travel grants plus reimbursed registration are available for full-time students, residents, or fellows who have an original research abstract accepted.  All trainee submissions requesting a travel grant are due by Friday, March 6, 2026.  More information can be found on the Travel Grant section of the site.

The non-trainee abstract submission deadline is Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Acceptance will be announced in a rolling fashion, 2-4 weeks after submission. Encore and research-in-progress abstracts may also be submitted. However, original research abstracts will be prioritized based on space.

Posters will be included in the electronic meeting materials and conference app.

If your poster is accepted, you (or a registered representative who you assign) must be present at this poster session to answer questions regarding your abstract.
* The presenting author must be an author on the abstract or it will not be accepted. *

Each poster display board in the poster hall accommodates two vertically-oriented posters. The poster size requirement is 33” wide x 47” tall (similar to how posters are presented at ESCMID Global). There is no design format requirement for the posters, only a size requirement. Push pins will be provided.

All abstracts must be 3250 characters or less. Character count includes abstract title, author name(s) credentials (if included), affiliation(s), city/state, all content entered for Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions, and all spaces.

** No pictures, figures, or diagrams will be accepted.**

MAD-ID and SIDP Abstract Embargo Policy

The MAD-ID and SIDP embargo policy is in place to protect the scientific integrity of original abstract submissions to our annual meeting.  All abstract submissions are preliminary until the time of the presentation or if previously authorized to be publicly released.  Release of any information contained in any abstract prior to the embargo date will be considered a violation of policy and will result in the individual as well as the employer/affiliated company, institution, organization, etc. being removed from the annual meeting scientific sessions with a two-year ban on returning.

Prior Publication

The authors of the abstract are responsible for coordinating the publication data and time so that it aligns with the MAD-ID and SIDP embargo policy.  If the publication occurs online or in print before the specific embargo data set by MAD-ID and SIDP, the abstract must be withdrawn.  Please notify MAD-ID and SIDP via email at abstracts@mad-id.org.  Failure to notify MAD-ID and SIDP of the publication will result in a ban on the ability to submit abstracts for all authors for two years.
